30 May: Equipment Browser updated with MZ-EH50/70 units Feeling like the old days: The Equipment Browser has been updated with entries for the Sony MZ-EH70 and MZ-EH50 portable Hi-MD players. Thanks kindly to Jan Sundström for pointing them out. (Any other gear we're missing?)

24 May: Dozens of Sony service manuals added It's time to open the archives. We've found dozens of previously un-posted Sony service manuals and have added them to the Equipment Browser (entries in red have had a service manual added to them). We are also now allowing directory indexing on all our manuals directories. Better late than never.
11 May: Sony Chairman, CEO Howard Stringer shares his thoughts on Sony's future Stringer on music: "If we had gone with open technology from the start, I think we probably would have beaten Apple". Read article here.
28 Apr: History of Minidisc is found on computer Internet and technology site The article reads, "The MiniDisc (MD) was first introduced to the market by Sony in 1992 as a replacement to the audio cassette. Developed during the late 1980's, MD used a magneto-optical system to store data recorded in real-time on a rewriteable medium. ..."
23 Apr: Forgotten Minidisc recording shows up on YouTube Gaming Blog mentions a Minidisc recording of Atari gaming music that was submitted to a gaming website back in 1994. Fifteen years later, it shows up on YouTube.
