Sony to Adopt "S-Core" Transformer

April 1st, 2000
A reader reports:

From an unexpected source, an operator named Del, I have just heard that Sony has had a breakthrough and is replacing all its R-core FFTransformers with a new design: S-core Laplace transformers. Advantages include the fact that S-core is a better marketing name than R-core for Sony and that Laplace is inherently flat down to DC which improves bass response remarkably. The only other feature Del mentioned is that each transformer carries its own (user definable!) End Search.

Microsoft is said to be working closely with Sony to license End Search to replace Stop in Internet Explorer.
