Key Check
- After releasing the buttons, ``Key Check'' will show in the LCD.
- Shortly, all the LCD segments will light up, all of them,
even the ones that aren't used in normal operation, such as STEP,
DATE and CLOCK.
- Each time you press a button, an LCD segment will turn off. The
AMS knob must be the last to be pressed. If it isn't, the display will
show "Remain !!!" Some keys turn off just one part of the LCD, others
turn off more than one.
- AMS must be the last button pressed. The last segments to turn off are
the numbers (the small track numbers matrix), AMS will turn that off.
- When you press AMS, the display will show "Key TEST OK!".
Jog and LED Check
- Next, the display will show "JOG&LEDCheck".
- Rotating one step of the AMS knob will turn off/on the power led.
If the led is off, one step forward or backwards will turn it on and
vice-versa.
- To finish this test you must press the AMS knob.
Segment Check
- Next, the display shows "SegmentCheck".
- Each alphanumeric segment (the part of the LCD where the alphanumeric
characters and symbols appear) will light up in some sort of chess pattern,
staying static (no animations).

- Next, the display shows "SlideSW CHK"
- Subsequently, "OFF ANA ST" will appear in the display.
- Switching the input switch from analog to digital will change the display

to show "OFF DIG MN".
- Moving the timer switch (on the JE500) will change the display to
show "PLAY DIG MN" or "REC DIG MN".

and timer switches, showing ST/MN, ANA/DIG, OFF/REC/PLAY, respectively.
- To end this step, press the AMS knob.

- To return to normal operation mode, turn the deck
off and on with the main switch.

button.
